Our Mission

Through participation in the annual FIRST Robotics Competition, support of local FIRST LEGO League teams, and community outreach activities, FIRST Team 1100 inspires young people from Algonquin Regional High School and surrounding communities to be science and technology leaders. We accomplish our mission by engaging students in challenging mentor-guided programs that build science, engineering and technology skills that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life skills including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

What is FIRST?

For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) is a volunteer driver organization founded in 1989 by inventor Dean Kamen. Its goal is to inspire and educate students through global robotics competitions.

We are FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 1100, representing Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough, Massachusetts. Our team is made up of high school students from Northborough and Southborough supported by adult mentors.

We inspire students to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) by competing in a global robotics competition held by FIRST. We build robots, host outreach events, and educate future leaders and innovators.
